The hotspot settings using the Standard Edition license allows you to set the following options:
Port |
The TCP/IP port used to listen for incoming connections. |
Use SSL |
Encrypt the connection using SSL. See here for more details on setting up SSL. |
Maximum no. of simultaneous requests |
Set this value to the expected maximum number of simultaneous requests, depending on your hardware capability. |
Limit search results |
You can limit the number of rows returned to users using this option. |
Roles and Permissions
A role defines which libraries a user has access to. Define as many roles as you require to limit access to your libraries. You can also set which users are assigned the current role here.
Users
Create users and assign a role to each user to limit access to your libraries. Create a login and password for each user, and assign a role to them.
Database
When sharing your database, your users can only search the existing index. They will not be able to update the database. On this Database page, you can update the database prior to sharing it.
Remove missing files from database |
Checks that the indexed files all exist, and remove entries for all missing files. |
Create/update page index for all libraries |
Create or update the page index for all files found in the libraries. Select this option if you need to update the page-level index and ensure your users can perform the search correctly.

Starting the hotspot
Click on the Start button to start the hotspot. The Start hotspot menu item will now be in a pressed state, and will display Stop hotspot instead, indicating that the hotspot is active. Similarly, the toolbar button will also be in a pressed state.
